AI-Powered In-App Generative Editing

Architect and lead engineer for the embedded Firefly workspace and AI-powered in-app editing experience across Adobe's flagship creative applications. Built the entire application shell from the ground up — the experience-layer foundation hosting routing, navigation, and the embedded AI editing surface — and integrated it into Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.

What I worked on

  • Application Shell — Built the experience-layer foundation from scratch, hosting routing, navigation, and the embedded AI editing surface
  • Cross-App Integration — Integrated the embedded Firefly workspace into Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
  • Bridge Messaging Handler — Built the interoperation layer between host applications and the embedded experience, including the round-trip of generated work back into Photoshop
  • Commerce Integration — Designed and built commerce and paywall experiences engineered to increase conversion

What came of it

Hold architecture and decision-making authority over the embedded workspace, setting technical direction that other teams build against and coordinating delivery across Firefly Platform, Firefly Services, Design, native app core, Home-screen, Ops/Content, product, and program teams. Live at scale, with the embedded experience drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors and producing over a million generations in a representative measurement period.
